I've considered picking up a cheap half size guitar for about £30. Basically it's a not-terrible epiphone that I could improve with some good strings. It's got a thin telecaster-like neck. I enjoy playing the same one which my friend got.

I'd like to play a little guitar, but really I'd just be playing it like a low G ukulele but using the bottom two strings for harmonies with a larger range. I just like fingerpicking on a guitar, and there are a lot of songs around I want to play, but just sometimes don't feel like transposing to ukulele.

What do people think about this? I was saving up for a Kala Archtop Tenor with electronics, but still getting pretty sweet birthday and Christmas gifts I might wait for my birthday and use my money now.
